Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation and Excavation at Castle Cary, Somerset, 2023 to 2024

This collection consists of site images (including aerial photography), and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation and excavation at Castle Cary, Somerset. Works were undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology between August and September 2023. A small excavation area was opened over the known location of the medieval castle keep. This area exposed parts of the northern, southern and western walls of the keep, as well as an internal wall and floor surfaces. Stratified dating evidence associated with the keep was almost entirely 11th-12th century in date.
