资源简介:
The Idaho Transportation Department's (ITD) Roads and Highways Road Network Linear Referencing System (LRS) HPMS faulting event polyline feature class represents the difference in elevation between adjacent concrete slabs at transverse joints on rigid pavements. Faulting occurs when one slab edge settles or rises relative to the next, typically due to load transfer inefficiency or erosion beneath the pavement. This measurement helps assess ride quality, structural condition, and pavement serviceability. Data is collected through field measurements or automated pavement condition surveys and is reported as the average fault height per slab joint in inches. Faulting data is used by engineers, pavement managers, and analysts to evaluate performance trends, identify maintenance needs, and model the progression of joint distress. It is maintained as part of ITD’s Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) submittal process to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and updated annually from the pavement condition inventory. This layer is an export from Roads and Highways that represents only the active records within the LRS. These are current “working” records. For the static, published data, please see the records stored at: https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/policyinformation/hpms.cfm This content item is a sub-layer of the Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) authoritative feature layer.
