The Smithsonian Global Volcanism Program is a volcanological database documenting Holocene and Pleistocene volcanoes and their eruption events over the past 12,000 years. This database provides daily, weekly and multi-month volcanic activity reports, containing detailed data of approximately 1,215 active volcanoes worldwide, as well as information on currently erupting volcanoes. The database is maintained by the Department of Mineral Sciences, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution.
