Whole genome sequence data of Streptomyces coelicolor M145 edited with STAGE

This project introduces the STAGE (Streptomyces-compatible TnpB-assisted genome editing) platform, a highly efficient and compact genome editing tool specifically developed for Streptomyces species. By leveraging a programmable TnpB nuclease and AI-assisted optimization, STAGE addresses key limitations of traditional CRISPR systems, such as large effector protein size and cytotoxic off-target effects. This versatile platform enables a wide range of genetic modifications, including targeted indels, precise base editing, multiplexed gene editing, and large-fragment deletions. The data from whole-genome sequencing of Streptomyces strains edited using STAGE will provide valuable insights into the precision and efficiency of this technology, further expanding the potential of synthetic biology and biotechnological applications in natural product biosynthesis and microbial engineering.
