This dataset contains town block-level data used to analyze the association between vegetation cover fraction (VCF) and the proportion of children (POC) in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.Files included:- tokyo.csv: Data for 4,814 town blocks in the Tokyo metropolitan area- osaka.csv: Data for 7,337 town blocks in the Osaka metropolitan areaVariables:- Vegetation cover fraction (VCF): Proportion of land covered by vegetation, derived from Sentinel-2 satellite imagery- Proportion of children (POC): Ratio of children (preschool, elementary, and junior high school students) to total population- Distance from city center: Distance from JR Tokyo Station or JR Osaka Station (km)- Crime rate: Number of reported crimes per capita- Proportion of residential zoning: Proportion of town block area designated as residential zoning- Distance to nearest station, school, and hospital (m)- Station ridership: Daily passenger count at the nearest stationData sources:- Demographic data: 2020 Population Census (e-Stat)- VCF data: Kiyono et al.
