In this study, we aimed to create an improved reference genome, named MtbRf, for tuberculosis (TB) research using data sourced from the GReAT project and CRyPTIC. By incorporating novel genomic regions derived from 3,614 whole-genome shotgun (WGS) reads, the updated MtbRf reference genome will foster a deeper understanding of genetic diversity, virulence factors, and drug resistance mechanisms in TB bacteria.
