This dataset is the Yangtze River Delta 1:3,000,000 scale lake and wetland dataset, with a temporal coverage of the past 60 years. Utilizing a wide range of existing maps, datasets and relevant information, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the Center for Environmental Systems Research at the University of Kassel, Germany, developed the Global Lake and Wetland Database (GLWD). On a global scale, by integrating the best available resources for lakes and wetlands (with resolutions ranging from 1:1 to 1:3,000,000) and geographic information system (GIS) functionalities, this GLWD is structured into three coordinated categories: (1) large lakes and reservoirs; (2) small water bodies; and (3) wetlands.
