Maize aphids (Rhopalosiphum maidis) are widespread in tropical and temperature regions and can harm various important food crops. They make it difficult to detach maize from the crop and interrupt the dispersal of pollen from male flowers; additionally, they can spread viral diseases among maize. The first complete mitochondrial genome of R. maidis is reported in this study.
