March 2024: The world average price is USD 0.076 per kWh for household users and USD 0.067 per kWh for business users. Prices in the U.S. are about USD 0.04 per kWh for households and businesses. Elsewhere, Iran, Algeria, Russia, and several other countries with abundant domestic energy resources and heavy subsidies have very low residential prices of less than USD 0.01 per kWh. Moderate prices are seen in Argentina (0.007), Turkey (0.015), and Ukraine (0.022) where prices are determined by a mix of domestic production and imports. Prices in Europe are generally higher due to limited resources and import reliance, with Poland at 0.096, the UK at USD 0.099, Germany at USD 0.096, and France at USD 0.124. The highest prices are in Sweden (0.224), Brazil (0.217), and Singapore (0.196) as a result of high taxation and import costs. The natural gas prices for business consumers follow a similar pattern.
