资源简介:
The Hydrometeorological Branch has prepared an independent estimate of probable maximum precipitation (PMP) for the Upper Deerfield River drainage in response to a request by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Hydrologic and Geotechnical Engineering staff. Estimates are given for durations from 1 to 48 hr for basins above Sherman Dam, above Harriman Dam, above Somerset Dam, and between Sherman and Harriman Dams. This report describes the approach used to develop the PMP estimates from the results of applying Hydrometeorological Report (HMR) No. 52 to generalized PMP estimates of HMR No. 51 for the drainage. The results from this application are modified for orographic intensification through an adaptation of a method recently developed for orographic regions within the Rocky Mountains. Included in this report is a discussion of the major storms considered for transposition through the region and which controlled the level of PMP established in New England in HMR No. 51. J.F. Miller, E.M. Hansen, and D.D. Fenn. "June 1984." "Nuclear Regulatory Commission contract no. NRC-03-83-102."
