Biodegradable microplastics (MPs) are increasingly used to reduce conventional MP pollution in agriculture, yet their effects on soil microbial functions and nitrogen (N) cycling remain unclear. This study assessed the impacts of biodegradable MPs (PLA and PBAT) and conventional MPs (PE) on plant growth, soil nitrous oxide (N2O) emission and microbial community in an 80-day coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) microcosm experiment.
