资源简介:
A History of Aboriginal Sydney is the output of a five year project supported by the Australian Research Council and the Department of History at the University of Sydney.  The website is intended as a means to repatriate histories to the first peoples of Sydney.  The website is also intended as an information source for use in schools and higher education institutuions, by Aboriginal families and organisations, and by non-Indigenous people of sydney who wish to learn more about the lives, histories and achievements of Australia's first peoples. The site content is broadly arranged by region, including North Coastal, Central, South Coastal, South West, West and North West.  "North Coastal" is the first stage of the five year project, and the majority of the resources in the collection relate to this region (February 2012).  The other regions will be added to over time, building up a collection of resources that describe the histories and communities of each unique region. Data collection and web development began in 2008.  In February 2012, the History of Aboriginal Sydney website had grown to incorporate a rich multimedia collection of over 800 images, over 30,000 words of analysis and commentary, over 70 digital videos of oral history interviews, interactive timelines, geospatial data, cross-references (links) to external resources, and an information trail of recommended readings and references. The majority of image, audio and video data was collected by Peter Read and Julia Janson.  System architecture and web design by Dr Suzana Sukovic. The History of Aboriginal Sydney website is a collaborative project. Further information and a complete list of project contributors can be found at http://www.historyofaboriginalsydney.edu.au/about/project-team.
