Data for: ``Young Get Older, but Old Get Younger": Warming-Induced Circulation Change Explains Contrasting Pattern of Projected Pacific Deoxygenation

Data from 7 MITgcm experiments, as described in the associated manuscript (see preprint: https://doi.org/10.22541/essoar.176797962.25176000/v1). Each zip file contains 5 datasets: annual mean temperature, salinity, and velocities (Physical), the annual mean age and oxygen tracer values (O2-Age-tracers), the individual budget terms for age and oxygen budgets (O2-Budget and Age-Budget), and yearly snapshots of each tracer to be used for the tracer tendency (O2-Age-Snapshots). These files can be analyzed using the codes stored at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.20279261 to reproduce the manuscript files. A final zip file (MITgcm_configuration_and_inputs.zip) contains 3 zip files with the MITgcm model settings (input_codes.zip), MITgcm code files that we modified (code_changes.zip) and experimental SST and SSS input files used (experiment_input_files). The data was produced by the MITgcm (version 68r) model using the Derecho computing system. The experiments were performed after spinning up the model for 4000 years using control surface boundary conditions. The experimental boundary conditions are prescribed as a 300-year loop, but each experiment is only run for 100 years (strangely, beginning at year 101 of the 300 year loop, not at year 1). Please reach out if you are attempting to run similar experiments. Data variables for each of the experimental datasets are listed below. All data are stored in .nc files which contain some metadata, but key information is listed here. Their title is the experiment name, followed by the suffixes shown here (e.g. Pacific-4C-Physical.nc). The time axis reflects the 100-year period, with time = 1 reflecting the average of the first year of the experiment. Snapshots begin at time=0 (beginning of the experiment) and end at time=100 (end of the final year of the experiment).
