The Specialist Practitioners Advisory Committee was established under Section 82 of the Dental Practice Act 1999 (No. 26/1999) and the inaugural meeting was held on 1/11/2000. Its function was to provide expert advice to the Board on dental care matters relating to the special branches of dentistry recognised by the Board. In 2007 the committee bacame a special purpose committee that would only meet at a minimum of once per year and when called upon by the Board. These records consist of the minutes, agendas and papers of the committee.
