Presence-data of orchids from the citizen science campaign "Wild for Orchids" collected during one orchid season (October 2025-May 2026) in the Maltese Islands

This dataset was collected from October 2025 to May 2026 and includes orchid occurrences from the Maltese islands during this period. All these data were collected as part of a citizen science campaign managed by the NGO Green House Malta called "Wild for Orchids". All data were validated, and taxonomic designations were given according to Plants of the World Online (POWO) and World Flora Online (WFO). Where the authors deemed relevant, taxonomic designations were carried out according to Mifsud (2018). To protect the orchids studied, location data has been published according to administrative territories, and no GPS coordinates are given. Pressure desriptions are defined as follows:Low - Orchids not in close proximity of pressures, but can potentially be affectedMedium - Orchids in close proximity to a pressure, and is likely to be affectedHigh - Orchids directly affected by a pressure
