Non-agglutinating Lactococcus formosensis 122061 Genome Sequencing. Lactococcus formosensis strain:122061

Lactococcus formosensis is a causative agent of Lactococcosis in farmed genus Seriola. In Japan, injectable and oral vaccines have been developed and commercialized to prevent Lactococcosis in yellowtail S. quinqueradiata, amberjack S. dumerili and kingfish S. lalandi. In 2012, L. garvieae-like strains were isolated from vaccinated yellowtail. These isolates were identified as L. garvieae by general bacteriological characterization, 16S rRNA sequence analysis and DNA-DNA relatedness. In general, slide agglutination test with anti-serum was used for identify of L. garvieae fish isolates. However, these isolates were not agglutination with usual anti-serum and these L. garvieae recognized to non-agglutinating L. garvieae. To investigate the genetic information of non-agglutinating L. garvieae, we report the complete genome sequence of non-agglutinating L. garvieae 122061 strain.
