(specimen FC-DPV 3584), recovered from the Sopas Formation (Late Pleistocene), Salto, Uruguay. The isotopic values are analyzed across different ontogenetic stages (nursing, weaning, and young adult feeding), providing insights into dietary transitions and paleo-climatic conditions. Methodology • Specimen: FC-DPV 3584 preserves teeth at different developmental stages (mature enamel, enamel in maturation, and enamel in formation). • Sampling: Bulk and serial samples were taken. Enamel surfaces were mechanically cleaned and sampled using a 0.5 mm inverted cone carbide drill bit mounted on a variable-speed rotary tool. The resulting powder was collected. • Pre-treatment: All samples were pre-treated to remove organic contaminants and secondary carbonates. • Analyses: Isotopic analyses (δ¹³C, δ¹⁸O) were conducted at the University of California, Davis (USA), using isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS). Values are expressed in ‰ (per mil), calibrated against international standards (VSMOW, VPDB).
