Tracing Socioeconomic Change and Emerging Elites in 4th–3rd Century BCE: Metalwork from the Amber Road Corridor – S1 Table dataset

This dataset contains the supplementary S1 Table associated with the manuscript Tracing Socioeconomic Change and Emerging Elites in 4th–3rd Century BCE: Metalwork from the Amber Road Corridor. The dataset provides sample-level archaeological and archaeometric information for copper-alloy objects from La Tène cemeteries in Bohemia and Moravia and from the agglomeration of Němčice nad Hanou, including comparative Mediterranean coins. The table includes contextual, chronological, typological, isotopic, elemental, and statistical variables used in the study of technological and socio-economic change in 4th–3rd century BCE Central Europe. The data provide the empirical basis for evaluating lead isotope patterns, trace-element composition, alloying practices, provenance modelling, and PCA-based multivariate structure of the analysed assemblage. It includes 399 records and 42 variables covering archaeological context and archaeometric measurements. The columns include: region; ID for model-age modelling; symbol identifiers; site category; site; grave; inventory number; object code; approximate century; dating of item; dating of grave; item category; sample description; sample notes; lead isotope ratios ²⁰⁶Pb/²⁰⁴Pb, ²⁰⁷Pb/²⁰⁴Pb and ²⁰⁸Pb/²⁰⁴Pb; model-age parameters; elemental composition values for Mg, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Ag, Cd, Sn, Sb, Pb and Bi; analytical sum; Pb group; and PCA factor scores. List2 contains a derived PCA dataset used for multivariate evaluation. It includes PCA factor scores together with object code, site, dating, and region. The dataset documents the archaeological and geochemical structure of the analysed assemblage and supports the evaluation of diachronic shifts in copper-alloy production, leaded bronze technology, raw-material provenance, and regional differences between Bohemia, Moravia, and the Němčice nad Hanou agglomeration.
