Compilation of annual nuclear electricity production per reactor from 1954 to 2025

The file “Nuclear_electricity_supplied_per_reactor_per_year_1954_2025” compiles the annual electricity supplied values per nuclear reactor between 1954 and 2025 based on the IAEA PRIS database (IAEA PRIS, 2026) (last access: July, 3rd, 2026). By missing values in the original database, three types of messages are commonly used: “data not provided” (DNP), “data from a trial operation not provided” (DTONP), and “data not available – suspended operation” (DNA-SO). To complete the dataset, we estimate annual electricity supplied values for the years where the message “data not provided” (DNP) is used; for both other messages, we assumed that no electricity was produced. The estimation of supplied electricity uses a mean reference unit power and a mean load factor derived from the values available from the other years, generally directly before or after the missing values (Lassey et al., 2007). By missing load factor, a default value of 0.5 was used. See more details in the attached "Data description" file.
