Tamoco

Tamoco is a mobile phone app dataset. The app collects real-time, anonymized location data from users' smartphones, based on the use of a range of smart phone applications. This offers researchers insights into human mobility patterns and behaviour. Researchers can leverage this data to study consumer trends, urban planning, and the impact of events on people's movements, amongst other applications. With a coverage of around 1% of the population and granular location information, Tamoco data offers the potential to understand changing societal dynamics and making data-driven decisions across various fields, from retail and transportation to public health and urban development.

The data has a geographic coverage across the Glasgow city-region. It has a time coverage of 3 years (2019-2021).

The dataset consists of Tamoco’s Location Data which provides:

* Verified GPS coordinates coming from third party app publishers.

* 7-digit Latitude and Longitude data with accuracy scores, providing a complete picture of how a device moves over time.

* Data is anonymised using securely hashed identifiers to protect user privacy.

##Access and Restrictions##
UBDC's partnership with Tamoco has now ended. UBDC is able to share the data already received. However there will be no further updates.

The Tamoco dataset is available classified as Safeguarded Data. Data are available for non-commercial, academic research by UK-based academics under an End User Licence.
