A pummelo seedling (W) with high HLB tolerance was obtained through crossing. A thorn-less branch (TL) was obtained from it in the greenhouse and grafted multiple times. On the grafted TL branches, about 50% recovered the thorny phenotype. Whole-genome sequencing using Pacbio RS II was carried out for detecting variations in the accessions. To unravel their transcriptome difference, profiling by RNA-seq was carried out.
