Grassland agroforestry 2017-2018

Data were collected at a short rotation alley cropping agroforestry site established at Mariensee (Lower Saxony, Germany) in 2008. At this site, three 10 m wide willow strips ("Tora" (Salix schwerinii x S. viminalis)) are alternating with 48 m wide grassland strips. Yield and selected quality parameters of perennial grassland were assessed yearly from 2017 to 2018. The total amount of litter per square meter was also assessed yearly during the whole period of litterfall. The biomass yield of the willow short-rotation coppice was estimated yearly (2017 to 2018).
