A glow plug for mounting in a cylinder head of a combustion engine is disclosed. The glow plug comprising a heating rod (1) and a body (2) and an annular gap (3) between the heating rod (1) and the body (2) and a chamber (4) primarily arranged between the heating rod (1) and the body (2). The invention relates to a glow plug， in particular for operation in an internal combustion engine， comprising at least one heating rod (1) and at least one body (2)， and further comprising at least one annular gap (3) disposed between the heating rod (1) and the body (2)， and at least one space (4) disposed substantially between the heating rod (1) and the body (2).
