SIMBAproject.eu: Bacterial Genome sequencing for sustainable food production

The samples to be submitted are part of the European Horizon 2020 innovation project SIMBA (Sustainable Innovation of Microbiome Applications in Food System). It consists of isolates from the rhizosphere from various crops growing under standard agricultural conditions, rhizosphere from potatoes growing under saline conditions, unicellular bacteria that are part of micro-algal associated microbiome, and from seaweed associated microbiomes. We aim for finding potential plant growth promoting genetic traits in these bacteria to be used in future sustainable food systems.
