Oakland Marker Survey Cornelius Sheehan

This is Cornelius Sheehan and his wife Elizaveth McCarthy. Cornelius died in 1888 and does not list a date of birth. Elizabeth was born in 1839 and was laid to rest in 1906. They have matching headstones with a palm frond laid across scrolls, under the scroll on the sides of the headstones there are acanthus leaves. The back of Elizabeth's headstone has Proverbs 31:28, "Her children arise and call her blessed." They are located in section 17, lot 290, plots 002 and 003 in Oakland Cemetery, in Atlanta, Georgia.
