Aridity and geographic distance shape multiple facets of anuran diversity in the South American Dry Diagonal

This dataset contains scritps and data used to produce the results of the paper. Abstract. The South American Dry Diagonal (SADD) is formed by the Caatinga, Cerrado, and Chaco phytogeographic domains, and this region harbors high diversity and endemism for many plant and animal groups. However, the environmental and geographic mechanisms shaping alpha and β diversity of taxa in the SADD are still debated. Here, we quantified patterns of taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic β diversity in anuran communities across the SADD and evaluated the effect of environmental and geographic factors on these patterns.
