资源简介:
Farm diversification processes through the integration of aquaculture and agriculture IAA is a growing innovation in the developing world. Waste generated such as rice bran and fish offal from this intervention (especially in integrated rice and fish farming IRF), may be a major environmental concern if not properly disposed of or utilised. Given the important role of sustainable feed development in aquaculture development, exploring the opportunities of converting these wastes from IAA to produce good quality and cost-effective feed for aquaculture development is highly imperative. Therefore, knowledge based on the utilisation of these IRF wastes in aquaculture nutrition needs to be developed. This study, therefore, investigated the resources assessment in Kebbi and Ebonyi state, experimental study was carried out in the University of Ibadan, Aquaculture Nutrition Laboratory to determine the nutrient composition and apparent digestibility coefficient (ADC), haematological and serum biochemistry parameters of the test ingredients rice bran feed (RBF) and fish offal meal feed (FOM) (procured from USAID/MSU IAA intervention project in Nigeria). The estimation of utilisable feed DM yield per household farm from rice bran in Kebbi and Ebonyi states were 0.10 and 0.09 t DM (ha). Rice bran and fish offal were analysed for their Amino Acid and Fatty Acid Profiles in each of the samples, Amino Acid content was further evaluated using Provisional Amino Acid of Egg Scoring Pattern (PAAESP) to determine their Amino Acid Score AAS. In addition, rice bran and fish offal were included in the diets of Clarias gariepinus and Oreochromis niloticus to formulate 40 % and 30% crude protein RF respectively. Test diets contained 70 % of reference diets and 30 % of test ingredients, with chromic oxide as the inert marker. Replicated groups of C. gariepinus and O. niloticus (10±0.01; 15±0.01 g, respectively) were fed these diets for 8 weeks. Apparent digestibility coefficients for protein, ash and energy were determined following standard methods. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, and ANOVA at α0.05. This study recorded the crude protein (%) of 65.83±0.21 and 10.59±0.11 for fish offal meal and rice bran respectively. The amino acid score showed that Methionine+Cystine were limiting essential amino acid in fish offal (0.78) and rice bran (0.46), the total score of the essential amino acid of fish offal and rice bran was 7.36 and 6.63 respectively. The ADC of nutrients varied significantly across treatments in C. gariepinus and O. niloticus. ADC of Protein was significantly highest in FOM (77.77 ± 0.49 %) and least in RBF (64.17 ±0.83 %) in C. gariepinus and FOM (78.61 ± 0.51 %) and least in RBF (63.11 ± 0.19 %) for O. niloticus. Also, the result of haematological and serum biochemistry parameters of the blood of experimental fishes fed FOM and RBF from the study indicated that there was no significant difference in the white blood cell (WBC), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine transaminase (ALT). The result of this study revealed that nutrient digestibility by C. gariepinus and O. niloticus was good for both rice bran and fish offal while FOM gave better results for the test fishes.
