This one-page brief broadly traces the history of Vision Zero adoption, values, and implementation in municipalities throughout the United States. The researchers found that 11% of US municipalities had a Vision Zero initiative that began between 2014 and 2020, that a majority identified guiding principles of safe systems and equity, and that many initiatives set achieving Vision Zero by 2025-2029 or 2035-2039.
