Mineral and petrofabric data of Neoproterozoic Tanzanian tectonites

The dataset includes mineral chemistry and crystallographic axis orientations for various minerals from selected metamorphic rock samples collected in the Gol Mountains of Northern Tanzania. Electron-microprobe data (Excel spreadsheet) include mineral structural formulae calculation by charge balance criteria following various procedures suggested in the bibliography (Spear, 1995) for different phases. Electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) mineral petrofabric data are the direct output of the automated Electron Back-Scattered Diffraction system from the University of the Basque Country (Channel5, HKL), and can be processed with MTex software and Matlab (Bachmann et al., 2010).
