Parallel spin-momentum locking of multifold fermions in chiral topological semimetals

Chiral topological semimetals, such as PtGa, are a new class of topological materials that host multifold fermions and have been predicted to exhibit parallel spin-momentum locking. So far, no direct evidence of this natural counterpart to the typical Rashba-like spin textures has been experimentally observed. We propose bulk sensitive soft X-ray spin ARPES on both enantiomers of PtGa to establish its presence, and an enantiomer-dependent inverted spin-texture around the multifold fermions.
