NRS-10791 | Certificates of Competency as Master of a Foreign-Going Steamship

These certificates record the name, address, date and place of birth, and the signature of the holder; the running number of the certificate; date and place of the examination; and the date and port of issue. There are references to previous certificates (eg. Chief Mates) and occasionally annotations referring to certificates reissued on the loss of the original including a few certificates originally issued by the Department of Navigation, but reissued after its functions were taken over by the Maritime Services Board in 1936.
