Sept 2025 These summary data used for Figure 5.1 (which also shows sample sizes) are in Hoogland 2026. This file ready for longterm storage on 24 January 2025. These data come from summaries of Table 1 of Hoogland 1979. Aggression, ectoparasitism, and other possible costs of prairie dog (Sciuridae, Cynomys) coloniality. Behaviour. 69:1-34. Raw data for these summaries are not in an EXCEL file. Colony rank is from smallest (1) to largest (5). Individuals at WTPD colonies were not marked, so I could accurately determine colony ranks (relative colony sizes), but not exact colony sizes. Note: These data are summaries. Raw data are in my field notes, but not in any EXCEL file. BTPD = black-tailed prairie dog WTPD = white-tailed prairie dog Data for this figure come from summations of data in Table 1 of Hoogland 19791282, for which I could not easily calculate standard errors.
