This dataset contains soil arsenic concentration and risk exposure data from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, collected between 2020 and 2022, with data stored in TXT format. The sampling sites cover key regions including Lhasa, Shannan, and Nyingchi. Soil samples were collected using the five-point composite sampling method: approximately 1000g of topsoil (0-20 cm depth) was gathered, thoroughly mixed, placed into sample bags, and the geographic coordinates and elevation of each sampling site were recorded. Subsequently, soil samples were air-dried, debris including plant roots, branches, and biological residues was removed, crushed, passed through a 100-mesh nylon sieve, and then bagged for further testing. Arsenic concentrations in soil samples were determined using a high-definition X-ray fluorescence heavy metal analyzer (XOS). For the certified reference soil sample GBW07403, the relative error between the measured arsenic concentration and the certified value was 5.79%, and the relative standard deviation was 6.96%. In addition, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) risk assessment model was adopted to evaluate human health risks via direct soil ingestion. As the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is a region with high endemic disease incidence and fragile ecology, this dataset can be applied to studies on the potential risks and spatiotemporal variations of soil arsenic on the plateau.
