资源简介:
A high-frequency (2-day) moored sediment trap was deployed in the Weddell Sea during the PICCOLO research cruise SD035. Scientists from the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) used the collected samples to resolve short-timescale variability in krill-mediated carbon export over an 18-day period (February 2024). Particulate Organic Carbon (POC), and krill faeces and egg fluxes were investigated. Faeces were analysed in term of size, composition, and state of degradation. Both faeces and eggs carbon contribution to the total POC was calculated.
