Chromosome-level genome assembly of the two-spotted spider mite <i>Tetranychus urticae</i>

We assembled chromosome-level genomes of <i>Tetranychus urticae</i> using Illumina, Nanopore, and Hi-C sequencing technologies. The assembled contigs had a total length of 103.94 Mb (N50 of 3.46 Mb), but this was reduced to 87.7 Mb following scaffolding to the chromosome level. This genome had BUSCO completeness of 94.8% and exhibited high synteny to previously published TSSM genome assemblies. We identified 15,604 protein-coding genes with a BUSCO completeness of 93.4%. The high-quality genome provides invaluable resources for the genetic and evolutionary study of TSSM.
本研究采用Illumina、纳米孔(Nanopore)及Hi-C测序技术,组装得到二斑叶螨(Tetranychus urticae)的染色体水平基因组。组装得到的重叠群总长度为103.94 Mb,N50值为3.46 Mb;但经染色体水平支架组装后,总长度缩减至87.7 Mb。该基因组的BUSCO完整性达94.8%,与已发表的二斑叶螨(TSSM)基因组组装结果具有高度共线性。本研究共注释得到15604个蛋白质编码基因,其BUSCO完整性为93.4%。这一高质量基因组为二斑叶螨的遗传学与进化生物学研究提供了宝贵的资源。
