Cultivating Collecting Brazil's Coffee

This data set presents places associated with the plantations, railroads, and trade of Brazil's coffee booms, roughly 1830-1850 in Rio de Janeiro area, and 1880-1930 in São Paulo. The dates, when available, are specific to the source material and may only represent the time frame under the study's consideration rather than the entirety of the place's existence/importance. The data set is divided into four categories: "São Paulo Places," "Rio de Janeiro Places," and "Other State Places" - all according to geography. Lastly, "Railroad Places" only indicates which places mentioned in the previous sections were also associated with railroad expansion (at times there are multiple stations in a single municipality) - it does not list the entirety of Brazil's rail system.
