Adaptive Continuity and Existential

Abstract This article develops a comprehensive philosophical theory of human transformation grounded in the concepts of Structural Subjectivity, Ontological Erosion, Ontological Suspension, Productive Destruction, Regenerative Agency, and Existential Regeneration. Contemporary philosophy has produced extensive discussions concerning identity, crisis, alienation, resilience, adaptation, authenticity, and selfhood. Despite these contributions, a significant theoretical gap remains. Existing frameworks frequently explain either continuity or transformation but rarely provide a unified account capable of explaining how continuity emerges through transformation itself. The central argument of this article is that human subjectivity should be understood as a dynamic structural organization rather than a fixed substance, isolated consciousness, narrative construct, or purely social effect. Subjective continuity depends not upon permanence but upon the capacity of this structure to reorganize itself under conditions of existential disruption. The theory proposes a six-stage regenerative architecture consisting of Structural Subjectivity, Ontological Erosion, Ontological Suspension, Productive Destruction, Regenerative Agency, and Existential Regeneration. Together these processes explain how human beings preserve existential continuity despite profound structural transformation. The article further introduces the Principle of Adaptive Continuity, according to which continuity and transformation are not opposing realities but mutually constitutive dimensions of human existence. Human beings persist not because they avoid disruption but because they possess the capacity to reorganize subjective structures following disruption.
