Dataset of Swiss watch trade with GCC markets, 2014–2025: FH-derived industry indicators and UN Comtrade bilateral flows

A two-source dataset of Swiss watch trade with the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets: United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. The deposit combines two complementary but separately interpretable layers:- FH-derived industry indicators from the public historical statistics of the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FH): per-market shares of world exports, period changes with annualised CAGR, a 2015 = 100 index, and export price-band shares.- UN Comtrade bilateral trade indicators for Harmonized System headings 9101 and 9102: Switzerland-reported exports for 2014–2025 and GCC-reported imports from Switzerland where available, with unit values, year-on-year growth, GCC value shares, the Herfindahl–Hirschman index, premiumization-related lenses, and export–import mirror gaps. GCC importer-side records are unavailable for 2025 for all six reporters and, for the United Arab Emirates, also for 2024. Switzerland-reported exports are complete for 2014–2025. The archive contains source-labelled indicator tables, a combined long-format catalogue, companion premiumization-lens tables, a data dictionary, codebook, coverage table, source register, SHA-256 manifest, unit tests, and Python code for transformation, validation, and combined-table construction. No raw FH value series or raw UN Comtrade API responses are redistributed. The UN Comtrade layer can be regenerated through the official API using the supplied code and an API key. The FH-derived indicators are reconstructable from the referenced public FH publications.
