资源简介:
This dataset marks the first phase in the evaluation of migratory flows from rural areas to the jungle and Lima in Peru, focusing on the creation of a comprehensive and robust database. Migration, a complex phenomenon influenced by economic, social, and environmental factors, has intensified in recent decades, highlighting the urgency of analyzing its causes and consequences in depth. The development of this database represents a meticulous and multidisciplinary effort, integrating a broad spectrum of variables. These range from climatic data to economic and social aspects, including information on access to basic services, land use, and vegetation, as well as indicators aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. To ensure the reliability and diversity of the information, a variety of sources were used, including climatic data repositories, crime statistics, educational records, and data obtained through remote sensors. The process of building the database was articulated in key phases: from the careful selection of variables to the collection, cleaning, and processing of data, culminating in the consolidation of the database. This rigorous and structured approach ensures not only the integrity of the data but also its relevance and applicability for future analysis. The next stage of the project will focus on an exhaustive analysis to unravel the factors driving internal migration in Peru. An advanced model will be used that estimates the probability of migration based on lagged socioeconomic variables, economic and social factors, infrastructure conditions and access to services, as well as variables related to climatic stress and land use. This model will incorporate fixed effects by district and year, and will take into account the migratory dynamics at the community level and the possible effects of social influence on the decision to migrate. This detailed and sophisticated analysis promises to offer a deeper understanding of migratory dynamics in Peru, a crucial aspect for the development of effective policies and adaptation and mitigation strategies.
