NRS-15728 | Second interim report of the Special Commission of Inquiry into the Glenbrook Rail Accident

This series is the Second Interim report of the Special Commission established to investigate the collision between an inter urban train and the Indian Pacific at Glenbrook in the Blue Mountains on 2 December 1999. The Second Interim report was prepared to make recommendations on the issue of structural change to the rail industry and was presented to the Governor 1 November 2000.The report provides a brief history of railway administration in New South Wales prior to 1996, summarises the disaggregation and restructuring of the railways in 1996, and presents a number of proposed models to restructure the railways. The final chapter contains the Commission’s recommendations for structural change of railways in New South Wales.
