资源简介:
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) have collected and curated Global Positioning System (GPS) locations from GPS-enabled Tellus Ultralight neck-collars placed on bobcats (Lynx rufus) in Texas. This dataset includes 51,223 GPS collar locations from 30 female or male bobcats whose locations intercepted the FM 106 study area and the Refuge from 2013-2021. Bobcats were captured in box-traps, sedated, anesthetized, fit with a GPS collar, and released on USFWS lands following protocols in Sternberg and Swarts (2021) (https://iris.fws.gov/APPS/ServCat/Reference/Profile/111109). Locations in this dataset occur on and around Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge. These locations are stored using latitude and longitude with a WGS84 reference system.
The data package associated with this is “Bobcat_GPSdata_FWS-TXDOT_2025_0513xlsx”).
The current dataset was the result of a collaborative project between TXDOT and USFWS. The GPS collar data here is related to the collaborative dataset for GPS locations for collared ocelots (https://iris.fws.gov/APPS/ServCat/Reference/Profile/175729, and is part of the data for the journal article at https://doi.org/10.1002/ece3.70703. This dataset resulted from use of the 106 Protocol to trap and handle bobcats and endangered ocelots found at the Service Catalog found here https://iris.fws.gov/APPS/ServCat/Reference/Profile/111109.
