Global CO2 Emissions: Total and Per Capita (Excluding LULUCF)

This dataset provides focused historical data on Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions by country, drawing from World Bank indicators primarily sourced from the EDGAR (Emissions Database for Global Atmospheric Research) Community GHG Database. All CO2 emissions are presented in CO2 equivalent values based on the IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5) Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors. The dataset includes two key measures, both excluding Land Use, Land Use Change, and Forestry (LULUCF) fluxes: Total CO2 Emissions Excluding LULUCF (Mt CO2e): This indicator (EN.GHG.CO2.MT.CE.AR5) captures annual CO2 output from the agriculture, energy, waste, and industrial sectors. CO2 Emissions Excluding LULUCF per Capita (t CO2e/capita): This metric (EN.GHG.CO2.PC.CE.AR5) normalizes the total CO2 emissions by a country's population, offering insight into individual CO2 footprints. This dataset is ideal for analyzing CO2 trends stemming directly from industrial and economic activities, providing a clear picture of core anthropogenic emissions without the complexities of land-use changes.
