Gene database of Metallosphaera sedula strain ARS50-1

<i>Metallosphaera sedula </i>is a highly thermoacidophilic archaeon capable of mobilizing metals from ores, and therefore find use in the field of bioleaching. This resource sought to provide fundamental information about the genetic repertoire of <i>M. sedula</i> ARS50-1 by parsing the annotated genome sequence of the archaeon downloaded from Genbank. Comprising gene name, gene function, and gene sequence, the resource should be useful for molecular cloning workflow to heterologously express genes relevant to bioleaching in established microbial chassis such as <i>Escherichia coli</i>. In addition, the gene database should also inform functional genomics studies seeking to decode the genetic-physiological nexus of this thermoacidophile.
