UNIBO Repositories extracted from SWH archive

This dataset contains a curated collection of source code repositories affiliated with the University of Bologna (UNIBO), extracted from the Software Heritage archive using its public REST API (https://archive.softwareheritage.org/api/1). The dataset was generated through a custom Python-based pipeline designed to identify repositories of institutional relevance. Candidates were retrieved via a keyword-based full-text search using terms such as “unibo”, “unibo.it”, and “alma mater studiorum”. Each repository was then evaluated using two key heuristic signals: The presence of UNIBO-specific keywords in README files Email domains of authors or committers (e.g., @unibo.it) found in the commit logs Repositories meeting one or both criteria were retained. The dataset includes metadata such as repository URLs, revision IDs, directory IDs, and a deduplicated list of associated authors. To ensure reproducibility and transparency, the dataset’s creation process tracked data provenance using structured JSON files at each stage (e.g., initial search results, processed log, final filtered dataset).
