Data and figure-generation scripts for reproducing the results of: Accelerated intensification of global warm spells revealed by the Warm Spell Magnitude Index daily (WSMId)

This dataset provides the data and scripts required to reproduce Figures 1–13 and Supplementary Figures S1–S3 of the manuscript “Accelerated intensification of global warm spells revealed by the Warm Spell Magnitude Index daily (WSMId)”. Each figure-specific directory contains: the Python scripts used to generate the figure the corresponding input data or instructions for accessing external datasets an accompanying "info" file describing the workflow, dependencies, and execution steps Additional supporting scripts and intermediate data products are included in the non_Figure directories. These cover preprocessing steps, diagnostic calculations, and shared components used across multiple figures. The workflow is modular, with figure scripts depending on outputs generated in earlier stages of the processing pipeline. These dependencies are explicitly documented within the corresponding "info" files to ensure reproducibility. This repository is intended for reproducibility purposes and does not represent a general-purpose software package. Not all primary datasets used in this study are not redistributed. The E-OBS v11.0 dataset is located in "E-OBS_dataset" directory and also available upon request from the European Climate Assessment & Dataset (ECA&D), and the ERA5 reanalysis data can be accessed via the Copernicus Climate Data Store (CDS).
