A Study on the Fiber Degradation in the Intestinal Tract of Lantang Pigs

The objective of this study is to investigate the mechanisms underlying fiber degradation in the indigenous Chinese pig breed, Lantang Pig. The research aims to elucidate the microbial community variations within the intestinal tract and identify unique carbohydrate-active enzymes. These discoveries have the potential to significantly augment the microbial taxonomic diversity of native Chinese pig breeds. Understanding the adaptability of indigenous pig breeds to high-fiber diets holds important scientific value for the preservation of genetic diversity.
