The Taskforce was established in 1989 (1) to combine two sub programs the Way Ahead Program and the Women's Industrial Program developed under the auspices of the Women's Directorate, which was established by the Department of Industrial Relations in 1983 to focus on all issues and conditions which affect women in the workforce (2). The taskforce was to provide a reference /consultative group to the Director-General of Department of Industrial Relations and Employment (and its successor) and the Minister, to advise on women's employment, training and industrial relations issues.This series consists of minutes, meeting notes, reports and associated papers for the Women's Employment and Training Taskforce which operated between 1989 and 1994.Endnotes1.
