资源简介:
Nasonia vitripennis is a distinct pupal ectoparasitic wasp, and previous studies have primarily concentrated on the protein species of venom and its functions. However, the presence of microorganisms and bacteria in the venom has not been reported. In this study, we dissected a vast number of N. vitripennis venom reservoirs to research the abundance and taxa of microorganisms. The effects of Wolbachia on N. vitripennis and Musca domestica were analysed, as well as changes in microbial taxa in the M. domestica hosts before and after parasitism, and predictions were made about the roles played by Wolbachia in venom reservoirs and during parasitism, and the effects on functioning. From a microbial viewpoint, the interplay between N. vitripennis and its hosts was investigated. The critical role of venom reservoir symbionts of N. vitripennis in parasitising M. domestica was unveiled preliminarily, thus providing a theoretical basis for new control methods for M. domestica.
