The Register of Trustees was created by local Courts of Insolvency under Section 18 of the Insolvency Act 1897, and subsequently, Section 75 of the Insolvency Act 1915. It was used to registered those persons who were appointed as a Trustee by the creditors of a declared insolvent under the Insolvency Acts. It was a record whose details were applicable throughout the State.Included in this register were all Trustees who had been appointed in this way with details being entered under the headings of Insolvents Name; Court; Trustees Name; Address; Date of Appointment; Date of Order for registration; Date of registration; date of Order for Cancellation and Date of Cancellation.Courts of Insolvency were also required to create and maintain, if necessary, a Register of Trustees for those persons who had applied to be registered as qualified to be appointed to the office of trustee. Such registrations were made under Section 17 of the Insolvency Act 1897, (subsequently Section 74 of the 1915 Act).
