Do herbivorous fish amplify the competitive dominance of floating-leaved plants over submerged plants?

This dataset contains raw data and analysis code supporting the study on herbivorous fish-mediated competition between floating-leaved and submerged macrophytes. The experiment was conducted in outdoor mesocosms at Wuhan Botanical Garden (30°33′N, 114°24′E) during the 2025 growing season. Study system: Four aquatic plant species (two floating-leaved: Nymphoides peltata, N. indica; two submerged: Vallisneria denseserrulata, Myriophyllum spicatum) were subjected to pairwise competition with or without grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) herbivory.
